Taking the campervan out of Albania
Yes — you can. Our vans are insured to cross into Montenegro, Kosovo, North Macedonia and Greece. Tell us which countries you plan to enter at least 3 days before you collect the van, and we issue the green card that covers them. It costs nothing.
What a green card is
It is the insurance document that makes the van legal to drive in another country. It is issued per country, which is the whole reason we need to know where you are going: a card naming Montenegro does nothing at the Kosovo border. We arrange it, and it travels in the van alongside the registration — you do not collect it or pay for it separately.
What it costs
Nothing from us. The green card is part of the rental and telling us where you are going is free. You pay whatever the border itself charges — road tax, a vignette, the odd fee — the same as you would in your own car.
If you cross without telling us
There is a charge of €200 — and, far more seriously, the van is uninsured the moment it leaves the countries named on the green card. An accident abroad on a card that does not name that country is not covered by anybody: not us, not the insurer, not your own policy.
It is the one rule on this page worth a telephone call. If your plans change while you are on the road, ring us before the border, not after it.
How to arrange it
- 1. Book the van as usual, and put the countries in the notes — or send us a message afterwards. Either reaches the same desk.
- 2. Do it at least 3 days before you collect, so the card is issued and in the van when you arrive.
- 3. Take your licence and passport to the border as normal. The van's own papers are already in the glovebox.
